my cat has hip displasior in both hips and tore a ligament in one leg. The vet wanted me to do surgery but I did not want to put my cat through the long recovery so i researched on the web and found out that most cats can heal themselves for a torn ligament. I bought him stairs so that he could get up on my bed and the kitchen chair without having to jump and then i started him on Cosequin. He limped for a couple of months and I controlled his pain with 1/2 baby asprin every three days and gave him two capsules of cosequin daily in his moist food and I am thrilled to say he is doing incredibly well. It has now been 1.5 years and he seldom limps he still uses the stairs most of the time because I feel like he knows that they help him but he can jump up and down when he chooses. I have continued to give him two capsules sprinkled in his food every day and it is now just part of his diet. I am greatful every day that I opted to try something other tnen surgery to see if it worked and for him it did!

Our nervous little cat was peeing in inappropriate places. I can't live with that, and I was afraid we'd have to get rid of him. We tried two things at once: a trip to the vet (where we learned he has cystitis, a bladder condition which can cause that behavior and is easy to treat with glucosamine HCL) and several Feliway plug-in units throughout the house.
What a difference! It's been about a month without a single incident.
I'm not sure how much to credit the Feliway, and how much to credit the Cosequin. I would recommend taking any problem cat to the vet, because there are sometimes medical reasons & successful treatments for problem peeing.
