My kitties love this drinking fountain. I have not seen little rear ends hanging out of toilettes since we purchased this fountain. Once in a while you get a product you really love and that is true of the Drinkwell fountain.

Works great. My cats always have fresh water. Love the idea for the filtering. Cats love to drink from a fountain and this way I do not have to change the water everyday.

I have 2 cats, one who loves to drink from a running sink. Bought the fountain in mid-April 2009. Seemed ok to start with and I always filled the fountain with water from my Brita filter. Was away for 5 days came home and the entire fountain was very, very slimey (my cat sitter didn't do anything with the fountain while I was away). So I cleaned everything, changed the filter, after 3 days the fountain starts getting slimey again. Took the filter out and run it under water and no water goes thru the filter. It's clogged! Fountain now sitting in my garage. Waste of money.

I've tried several watering systems for my cats but this is the first one that my "fraidy cat", Karli took to almost immediately. She's wary of anything new, but this worked out great. I soak the filter in a bowl for about an hour to remove the loose charcoal instead of just rinsing it. That extra step has made a huge difference. I also add filtered water when the level drops so I've been able to get three weeks use out of a filter. I've never had a problem with clogging at all. Each cat uses it differently. My male cat, Theadore drinks out of the bowl and Karli drinks from the top where the water comes out - very cute to watch.

I love this water bowl! I holds more water than other bowls I have used. It is easy to refill between cleanings. Cleaning became a problem when I could not get it to come apart. The center piece rotates and locks into place with 3 lips that lock into grooves. After trying the second time and finally getting it off (my husband and I both gave up and refilled it the first week), I didn't lock it back in. The lips can engage and keep everything in place without being locked in and I don't have to fight it to take it apart to clean it. The filters need replacing every 2 to 3 weeks which is more often than other bowls I have used. This makes it cost a little more but my dog and cats love it!
