 "My dogs love this!" 2009-08-30
By PammyLorel (Midwest)
I have a lab-mix and two schnauzers. I was skeptical that they would like this toy and understand how to play with it. I was really wrong. They love it. Each squirrel/chipmunk squeaks and my big dog loves to just walk around with one squeaking it and squeaking it. I honestly can't even keep the squirrels in the log - my dogs pull them out right away. And one of my dogs was even walking around with the empty log in her mouth the other day. Great toy, entertaining, and nobody has ripped it up yet. I would highly recommend.

"Nice toy, not for a CHEWER" 2009-08-29

This was a nice toy. The dog loved it. She also destroyed it within 15 minutes. She is a 27 pound mixed pup. This is not the toy for a stronger chewer. If your dog doesn't destroy stuffed toys, this would be a very nice toy for them.

Our cavalier king charles spaniel Liberty was overwhelmed with joy and is absolutely loving her hide-a-squirrel! :)

"hours of amusement for a hound" 2009-08-20
By E. L. Pressman (Middletown, DE United States)
My four year old basset hound loves this toy! Generally she's very hard on stuffed toys; she has the tendency to choose one part of a stuffed toy and chew on it until she chews it clean off. But the interactive element of this -- hiding the squirrels inside the tree stump -- keeps her busy and engaged actually *playing* as opposed to chewing through it. That being said, each of the pieces seems well made and pretty sturdy (as far as soft toys go) to withstand some chewing. The Amazon price was a total bargain.

 "Cute and Entertaining" 2009-07-29

My dog is very attached to me and will almost always choose me over any toy. You can imagine my surprise when she showed immediate interest in Hide-a-squirrel. We followed the directions and kept it with already worn clothes for 12 hours and don't know if it made a difference or not. It just sounded like a good idea. The squeakers piqued her interest. We had the tails sticking out of the stump so she could easily grab it with her little teeth. She was on task immediately and quickly learned to remove and play with the squirrels. Now she drags the squirrel-filled stump across the floor to her favorite spot in the family room and is equally happy to play with or without someone else. We are pleasantly surprised with this purchase. Reasonable price for such an adorable and stimulating dog toy.
