I have used this pressure cooker many times since I purchased it. It works great as long as you follow the directions. Parts are easy to obtain. Nothing has needed replacing yet, but I ordered a spare gasket just in case.

Excellent price; easy to use and clean; makes food taste more nutritious according to the person I gifted with it. Could only be better if made in the USA instead of China.

My first Presto Pressure cooker was purchased in 1966, when I first married. I grew up with it since my Mother owned one purchased at the New York World's Fair in 1939. It worked wonderfully in 1939, ditto 1966 and now my new Stainless Steel 6 quart Presto is even better in 2009 ! I could not be without one!

Okay, I've been using the aluminum Presto 4qt I got as a wedding gift since l974, so the fact that I am truly impressed with all the updated features may be a decade late or so. I bought this 6 qt one because it was on sale at the same price as the 4 qt and am very happy I did. The extra size I find I use even though I only cook for two slim people, so don't use a lot of food.
My original Presto was still using the original rings and seals and had only lately started to leak a bit. Think of that: seals over 30 years old and in an arid climate (New Mexico and Arizona) all those years. And I wanted to avoid the aluminum. In l974 it was cutting edge, there has been a lot of info since then that I took into consideration (althought I notice Presto still offers the aluminum version). The one draw back is this is heavier than the aluminum but like my husband said yesterday as he was cleaning this: this is one fine piece of machinery and a joy to see in an age of cheap manufacturing ethics. Save water!

Excellent product. The meat we have cooked so far is the most tender meat my husband and I have ever had, with total cooking time far more than cut in half from baking, crock pot, etc. We highly recommend!!
