This is a great product.
My cat took to it right away.
The only thing to note is that it REALLY does work best with litter crystals. I found that regular clumping litter would need to be changed every 2 weeks. Make sure you get crystals that absorb the urine leaving only solid waste to be raked up. Any litter crystals, I've found, will work well.
PS. To avoid dependance on their refil cartridges get the forever tray for this item.

The product works great. No complaints about that.
The main issue is the cost of the refill trays. I have two large cats and am barely able to go ten days with one tray. At that point, the litter crystals become saturated, and the odor of urine becomes prevalent. I'm stirring the crystals every couple days, but it's not enough. I haven't had any problems with urine leaking from the tray.
Another issue is that one of my cats did not always use it for #2. He'd go on the floor next to it. The problem seems to have gone away for now; could be because I changed the scoop delay to 5 minutes rather than the default 20.
I've also had the LitterMaid, and I like the ScoopFree better so far. ScoopFree is much quieter, and requires minimal cleaning. They offer a 90-day guarantee, so it's worth a try. I still have another 5 weeks to decide if the extra cost of the refill trays is worth it.

Best Litter box on the market. Scoop Free is an automatic litter box that make a big difference keeping our Cats litter area clean. We have two persians that use the box togeather - the crystals still last three weeks before you have to replace the crystal box. This company knows the Cat business. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest - Scoop Free gets a 10. A very good product. Amazon offers a very good price. Between price and product, this one is a winner.

We've had the Scoop Free litter box for about a year and a half and it's broken. The rake goes one way and then stalls out. I can push the cycle button and it will return to the starting position. Considering the high cost, I believe it should have lasted longer; however, while it worked, it was great and we intend to buy another. Previously, we'd owned 3 automated litter boxes (2 types, 1 type twice (LitterMaid).) I like the Scoop Free better and it definitely keeps the area less stinky. We also have much less work with it - it's pretty much limited to the occasional, area clean-up and replacing the tray. The trays are expensive and I think they are VERY optimistic to say that it can last for up to 30 days. We change ours about every 3 weeks and sometimes in only 2 1/2 weeks and we just have one cat. Since the bottom of the tray box serves as the bottom of the litter box, they should make it stronger - perhaps double-layered since by the end of the use period it is considerably heavier and weakened from absorbing all of the urine. We have compensated for this by putting doggy piddle pads under the tray. (Those also help because our cat is a digger.) Additionally, to improve on the freshness, we occasionally scoop a little of the waste and add a little bit (1-2 cups) of fresh crystal litter. So, while no litter system is perfect, we prefer this one because of less maintenance and the fresher environment that it allows.

I love this box, I was nervous my kitty wouldn't use it but she doesn't mind it and loves to watch the box work, which is quite funny to see. This is so much nicer than scooping all the time. I have the forever tray that goes with this and I am glad I got them both.
