This clicker is so loud that it scared my dog. I have to re-accustom him to it each session. I am ordering one with a softer sound.

This clicker is loud, but if you are in a room with many other dogs and owners..well this works to let your dog know YOU are clinckig his great behavior. I have purchased several of them now. They gave us free cheapo ones at the class, but I never fail to use this one when training. It is also very comfortable to hold.

I bought this to try and keep my dog from wandering away from home, or to call her back if she does. Tried it two days and it didn't seem effective. So the third day I spent $660 getting my invisible fence up and running, and buying a new control collar. I didn't really want to do this as the fence and collar control the dog by pain and fear.
Of course, as luck would have it she caught on by the third day that the sound of this clicker was ALWAYS associated with a waiting treat! Now she stays nearby, and looks with anticipation at my right pocket. Often I reward her with a click and a treat for just being good and staying in our yard. The clicker is quite small, not even visible in a ladies pants pocket. I just press against my pocket to make it click, so that is easy. Problem is... for a few days now it's disappeared into a pocket somewhere in the house!
But the training seems to have formed a habit for her, so I really don't need it as much if at all.

I have just started using this with my little dog and it works much better than I ever thought it would. The sound seems to get his attention and now that he associates it with good things we are on our way to learning the basics of good manners.
