I ordered this product as my cat suffers from chronic, albeit minor, ear problems. He started the "head shaking" again recently, so I ordered the product. (His problem usually clears up on it's own after a day or two, but it is tough watching how uncomfortable he gets at times). I used it as instructed and was suprised to see how thick the product was. The cat immediately went crazy - he shook his head for almost a whole week! I was ready to take him to the vet, but it finally did get better. After reading all of the reviews, it sounded like a great product, but all it did was make my animal miserable. Just be aware that the product is very thick, almost gel-like.

I have a cocker spaniel which had never had ear issues till recently, someone told me about this product, which of course I didnt believe it would work, I tried a million things, and couldnt afford a big vet bill, I used zymox faithfully for a week, still thinking it would never work cause my dogs ears had such a horrid smell, and it worked wonders!!! I will always have this product on hand, it was so nice to see my dog back to her old happy self again!!!!!

All of the great reviews are true! This is the only product I have tried that actually cured my Boston Terrier's ears. I have used other stuff and some of it helped but nothing got rid of it completely. Must be painless as my boy doesn't run when he sees the bottle. Started working within a few hours of first application and redness and head-shaking were gone within 4 days. This is a must-try if your pet has bad ears.

We have a 4 yr old Labradoodle who has had semi-annual ear infections since she was a puppy. In the past, a vist to the vet, some antibiotics and ear ointment took care of the problem within 4-5 days, but not this time. Here is the latest $800 treatment plan:
Vet Visit #1- Minor ear cleaning - Antibiotic injection - Baytril antibiotic tablets (which made her sick) and Otibiotic (Mal-otic) ointment in the ear.
After 2 days we saw an improvement, but by day 4 it was getting worse again.
Vet Visit #2 - We requested a culture be sent to the lab - in the mean time, new treatment plan - off antibiotics - onto 3 drops of Synotic (Fluocinolione Acetonide and Dimethyl Sulfoxide)and 8 drops of Oticalm/Amikacin suspension twice a day.
Again, after 2 days we saw an improvement but by day 3 it started getting worse again. Lab culture report came back as negative for both bacteria and yeast!!!! (but we were treating her BEFORE the swab so not sure how accurate the culture was).
Vet visit #3 - Two choices - go see a dermatologist or give her Prednisone. I asked the vet about Zymox and he said he never heard of it.
I already ordered the Zymox and when I got home from the vet it was there.
Rather than start her on the Prednisone (steriods), decided to try the Zymox for 5 days to see if it would make a difference. WOW!!!!!! It has been 4 days and her ear looks better than any of the 2 day improvements from the vet applications. In fact I would say the ear never got better than 30% improvement and not I would say it's about 85% better. I was using the Zymox twice a day and will now go to once a day until she is completed healed. I am going to buy the 4oz size to ensure this never happens again and will make sure I perform the weekly maintenance. Good Luck to anyone else going through this and I can tell you how good I feel about using a Holistic healing product on my dog instead of steriods.

Our black lab had chronic ear infections and - like everyone else - we got sick of the vet bills so we gave Zymox a try several years ago. We started with twice a day - cleaned ears out with a dry tissue as best we could and then added a liberal squirt of Zymox directly in the ear canals. Then we rubbed the ears to distribute the Zymox in the ears. After the ears started to show noticeable improvement (maybe a week or so later?), we went down to once a day until the tissues were clean for several days. Then we stopped using it for 2+ years!! His ear infections didn't come back during that whole time and friends and family always commented on how clean the inside of his ears were. Unfortunately another ear infection is here and we haven't been very consistent with the Zymox so here I am to buy some more. I think consistency is the key - keep using it daily until you're convinced the ears are clear and then keep checking periodically so any recurring infections can be nipped in the bud! We love this product!
