I did a fair amount of homework before purchasing this product. I read a lot of user/consumer reviews which I feel are the best at giving a realistic picture of if a product works or not. The reviews were mixed and the bottom line from most people was "try it" so I did.
I will confess that I did not do the behavior modification along with using the DAP diffuser. However, for me and my dog, the product seemed to work OK. My dog is horribly thunderstorm phobic to the point where she keeps me up all night shaking, salivating, hiding, etc. The phobia has gotten worse over the years. I basically stuck the diffuser into the wall and crossed my fingers. We had several nights in a row with storms and my dog did much, much better. She was still nervous, but not exhibiting it to the point where we were both up all night. I was able to get a full night's sleep. She still shook, but didn't harrass me as much, didn't drool, and didn't hide.
So, for me, so far, this seems to be a wonderful product. But, I will echo the sentiments of most other buyers--You just have to try it yourself. There's no way to know which dogs will respond and which won't. $20 seems like a pretty small investment for potentially a lot of piece of mind (and my sanity back ha!).

I was a bit skeptical about this product, but my vet recommended it for our dachshund's separation anxiety. We've been using it for a few weeks when we're out of the house, and it's been working well. We come home to a relaxed dog taking a nap in her favorite spot in our bedroom. The real miracle for me, though, is how well it works to calm her down while she's in heat. We weren't able to get her spayed before she started her first cycle, and she's been driving us insane with her restlessness, frustration, and non-stop attempts to mate with anything that stands still. This weekend, after a long and aggravating day that was upsetting all of us, it finally occurred to us to plug in the D.A.P. The change in her is nearly instantaneous. Earlier tonight, she was in the living room with my husband, whining and climbing all over him. He brought her into the bedroom, and she's now lying next to us cuddling peacefully.
The only downside to the product is that it's a bit expensive. We just unplug it while we're home (except while she's in heat) in hopes of using it up less quickly.

This product seemed to make my calm lab mix lethargic and my hyper lab mix lethargic as well. We used the product for about a week and then had to unplug it because both dogs stopped eating for over a day. (They might skip a meal, but never three meals in a row.) Now we plug in for a day or so a week to help the hyper dog become a little calmer. When the product runs out, I will probably re-order.

I have three dogs - one has become very nervous and affects the other two. I put the plug-in right where she lays most of the time, and it has absolutely no effect on any of the dogs. I've had it plugged in for two weeks, and bought several refills assuming that it should help with at least one of them! It may help with some, but definitely not mine. They are a basset, a basset/lab mix, and a heeler/border collie mix.

The diffuser cannot work in HK, and almost burned. The bottle was melted. Since I cannot use it, don't know if the DAP in this format works or not.
